Well Hello There!

After a very busy period with our fashion trade shows and trips we have calmed down a bit and wanted to share some Lemon Ribbon Loveliness with you all! Some snaps from last years brand show prep, all very exciting and new products some of which are to be launched through Graham and Brown in June. We took a few photos of the show prep at Brand licensing as well as our stand- the end result!!!

New studio

Our beautiful blog has been on a holiday for the last few months whilst the Lemon Ribbon team has been busy moving into our new design studio. We can now safely say we have our new creative hub and we can share lots of newness with the world!

The studio has been bustling over the last few weeks with lots of exciting new projects. We took some snaps to give you a taster of our new home and busy people! We have been researching into lots of lovely new trends for our new season and our team has been busy with their tools designing away!

Our lovely Chloe made us a 'new studio chocolate cake!" yum!

On another note ....Anyone interested in design or design/makers should be sure to check out the Grayson Perry exhibition- 'The tomb of the unknown craftsman' at the British museum. What a creative genius! Collier and Campbell

Lemon Ribbon is very excited to be attending the exhibition of Collier and Campbell this week. Their work as sisters has been on textiles for the likes of Liberty, Cacharel and Yves Saint Laurent. This beautiful 'egyptian birds' fabric below is the press image for this exhibition at the London National Theatre, so beautiful and wonderful use of colour.

In 1971 Susan Collier became design and colour consultant on all Liberty of London prints fabrics and products. Under her the firm became a major supplier of wholesale printed fabric to the mass market.

They always hand painted their designs and continued to do so despite many other designers using cad. Susan Collier's mantra was apparently to 'cheat the repeat' hand painting enabled a rich variation in colour and movement.

Inspiration swirls and hand painted loveliness here we come!!!.....

Surtex 2011

Lemon Ribbon will be at Surtex, New York in a few weeks from May the 15th to the 17th.

The lemon ribbon umbrella of loveliness will be offering youth orientated artworks from baby to young adult as well as adult buys for a fresh young feel.

We are currently busy busy bee's in the creative studio working on some contemporary and fresh designs for paper and craft, stationery, wall art, bedding, scrap booking, fashion and home!

Lovebox

Lemon Ribbon loves a summer festival for some fun and creative inspiration and finds. They are fabulous for new ideas and prints. We also love the posters to promote these events. Our fave so far has to be the Lovebox one, using collage looks and layering with flashes of colour! We also love the use of maths paper in the background which we have been using in the studio for a while now!

Eden and creativity

Wow! We had a great time snapping some lovely things at the Eden Project last month. Based in Cornwall it is a great eco- aware educational charity focussing on the environment and it's ever more crucial issues. Here are some of the great things we saw.
